A favourite among commercial growers and home gardeners alike, Massey Gem is Australia's most popular shelling pea for the fresh market. These high-yielding, quick-maturing dwarf plants grow to 60-75cm tall and produce large pods containing approximately 8 sweet-tasting peas. Perfect for freezing, Massey Gem peas are hardy, disease-resistant, and well-suited to cooler climates.

Planting Instructions:

Sowing Time: Sow from late summer to autumn, ensuring soil temperatures are at least 13-15°C for germination.
Preparation: Soak seeds in water for a few hours before planting.
Planting: Sow seeds 20mm deep and 40cm apart.
Germination: Expect seedlings to emerge in 10-14 days.
Protection: In extreme weather, start seeds indoors and transplant seedlings when they are mature enough.
Harvest: Harvest approximately 70-80 days after sowing.
