Borlotti Bean – Red Rooster Seeds (Phaseolus vulgaris)
‘Red Rooster’ is a productive dwarf (bush) Borlotti bean variety valued for both fresh pods and dried beans. The plants produce large, 12cm-long green pods streaked with vivid red speckles. Inside, the seeds are red-speckled, maturing to a tan colour when dried. Young pods can be harvested early and enjoyed fresh, or allowed to fully mature for use as a delicious dried bean with excellent flavour. Perfect for soups, stews, and baked beans. An ideal choice for home gardeners and small plots, with beans that store well for long-term use.
